ldsideAR2017

Over 5 days - 400km - teams traversed the ACT South to North.

The journey started at the Buckenderra Holiday Park at the bottom edge of Lake Eucumbene in the Snowies heading past the giant trout in Adaminaby, across Yaouk and Rocky Plain into the southern part of the ACT through the Namadgi National Park.

Travelling along the Naas River Valley teams crossed the Booth Range and headed into the Orroral Valley on the edge of the Bimberi Wilderness. From here they climbed up to an abseil off Booroomba Rocks and then trekked into Tidbinbilla.

From Tidbinbilla they looped out towards Cotter Dam and across the Bullen Range before meeting the Murrumbidgee. Then paddling began with a 12km trek then pack raft down river towards the northern edge of the ACT.

Then the race went urban with a staged traverse of the City of Canberra, which included single track, famous landmarks, a paddle on Lake Burley Griffin and mandatory visits to some touristy spots rogaine style before finishing at Ibis Styles Eaglehawk.
